who provide evidence-based nutrition services. We help prevent, delay, or
manage diseases and medical conditions through nutrition education and medical
nutrition therapy. Medical nutrition therapy is the management of medical
conditions through nutritional intervention.

Nutrition counseling may be covered as a benefit by your insurance company,
though it may require preauthorization. Our scheduling department will work
with you to determine whether nutrition care services will be covered. You may
be required to self-pay for your nutrition appointment if your insurance does
not cover nutrition education or medical nutrition therapy.

Healthy Food Assistance
Carson Tahoe supports and participates in local community efforts to provide
for our area residents in need. We work closely with Friends in Service
Helping (FISH), and Remote Area Medical (RAM). Additionally, we donate fresh
produce harvested from our garden at the Regional Medical Center.
