Kitty McKay

Vice President, Community & Patient Experience

After graduating from Michigan State University's Honors College, Kitty McKay lived and worked in Japan where she helped manage garment manufacturing throughout Asia. Since she made her way to Northern Nevada in 1993, she settled in, married, had two kids and started a regional restaurant & event business with her partner/husband. After a heart attack suddenly claimed his life, she discovered her life's calling — fostering meaningful connection and healing in healthcare. She joined Carson Tahoe Health in 2009 as a Physician Liaison and now leads Community and Patient Experience initiatives, including programs like Healing Our Kids & Community, which supports youth mental health across the region.

Outside of work, Kitty enjoys time with her husband Johnny, their blended families, live music, travel, great food, and meaningful connection with friends.
