Breastfeeding Support

Support You Can Count On

While breastfeeding is natural, it isn't always automatic. Our nursing staff has completed additional training to help you get off to a good start with breastfeeding. If you experience difficulty with breastfeeding, we offer a breastfeeding warm line and a breastfeeding support group for questions and answers.  Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC's) are available to provide education, support, and private consults to pregnant and nursing mothers.

Breastfeeding Support Group

This is an informal group led by a Lactation Consultant and is meant to provide ongoing support to mothers regarding breastfeeding and mothering. All breastfeeding mothers and babies are welcome to attend.

Carson City

Mondays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at the Health & Wellness Institute, 1470 Medical Parkway, Suite 250, Carson City, NV

 Wednesdays from 10am - 11am in the Bristlecone Room, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, 1600 Medical Parkway, Carson City, NV

Minden

When: Every Friday from 10am - 11am

Where: 2nd Floor Conference Room at Minden Medical Center, 925 Ironwood Dr., Minden, NV

• July 4 in observance of Independence Day
• September 9 in observance of Labor Day
• November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day

Breastfeeding Support Classes

If you are planning to breastfeed your baby, this course will help you better understand the benefits and will explain what to expect while nursing. The course offers tips on breastfeeding and addresses the most common concerns of women who breastfeed. Sign up for classes.
