Michelle has over 20 years of healthcare experience. She joined the Carson Tahoe team in January 2015. Michelle began her healthcare career with the Iowa Health System (now Unity Point) in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2000, she assumed the Director of Planning and Marketing position at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California, later serving as Associate Administrator and then Chief Executive Officer. Michelle continued her career with Banner Health serving as Chief Executive Officer in Sterling, Colorado; Associate Administrator at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado and then Chief Operating Officer at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 2011, she received the ACHE Colorado Regent’s Award for Young Healthcare Executive. Michelle enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling and spending time with her husband, Rocky, and twin boys, Andrew and Jacob.
Dr. Fink received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing a transitional internship at Brooke Army Medical Center followed by an Emergency Medicine residency at the Madigan Army Medical Center/University of Washington Combined program, Dr. Fink was selected as Chief Resident. He maintains Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. In 2013 he earned a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Washington and has recently completed a Health Policy Fellowship sponsored by Ohio University and American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. A veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Fink arrives here from upstate NY where he was the Chief Medical Officer for the Carthage Area Hospital and CMO / Interim COO for Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. His career has taken him from clinical Emergency Medicine to leadership roles as a group managing partner, Chair of Emergency Services, Elected Chief of the Medical Staff and VPMA/CMO in a large integrated health system. He and his wife, Kiersten are blessed with 9 incredible children and 4 of the most adorable grandkids ever produced, all of whom are a short plane ride away. The Finks are self-proclaimed foodies, who enjoy cooking, experiencing fine dining and local culture, wine tasting, skiing, outdoor activities, and travel.
Michelle joined Carson Tahoe Health from Tenet Healthcare where she most recently served as the Chief Human Resource Officer for the San Antonio Texas Region. Her experience in the Texas and California markets includes many successes in HR operations, leadership development, HR Information Systems, labor relations, recruitment, and organizational development. Michelle holds a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and completed her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Healthcare Administration. Michelle has an achiever attitude and truly understands how people and culture form the foundation of our success.
Katie joined Carson Tahoe Health in August of 2020 as the Director of Finance from Renown, where she was the CFO of Acute Care. She has 11 years of healthcare experience with over 20 years of finance experience. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Montana, Missoula, then received her Certified Management Accountant certificate in 2015. In 2017, Katie received her MBA, Healthcare Administration from WGU, while working full time with twin four-year-olds at home. She works hard to build relationships and partnerships to succeed within the organization as a team. She was born and raised in Gardnerville and loves the area. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and twin daughters Kennedy & Paige at the lake, hiking, biking, boating, and just relaxing.
