Ed has over 25 years of hospital management experience. He began his career as the Director of Pharmacy and Materials at Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital and then moved to Watsonville, CA to become Vice President at the Watsonville Community Hospital. Ed came to Carson Tahoe Hospital in 1994 as the Chief Operations Officer and in 2001 became the President and CEO. He received a Masters in Public Health from the University of San Francisco, is a registered Pharmacist with a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy from the University of the Pacific, and is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Ed is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives, Nevada Hospital Association, and the Medical Group Management Association, and is a member of the Nevada Hospital Policy Committee, University of Nevada, College of Science, Advisory Board, and a board director for the regional American Heart Association.
Michelle has 17 years of healthcare management experience. She joined the Carson Tahoe team in January 2015. Michelle began her healthcare career with the Iowa Health System (now Unity Point) in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2000, she assumed the Director of Planning and Marketing position at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California, later serving as Associate Administrator and then Chief Executive Officer. Michelle continued her career with Banner Health serving as Chief Executive Officer in Sterling, Colorado; Associate Administrator at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado and then Chief Operating Officer at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 2011, she received the ACHE Colorado Regent’s Award for Young Healthcare Executive. Michelle enjoys hiking, skiing, travelling and spending time with her husband, Rocky, and twin boys, Andrew and Jacob.
Anna holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2008. She acquired her first degree in nursing from the University of Texas in 1991 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2005. Anna has spent several years traveling as a Transitional Leader, helping hospitals from across the country fill management vacancies in areas such as Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Critical Care, Emergency Room and Mother/Baby. She has served in roles from Manager to Administrative Director to CNO, and has been instrumental in process improvement while permanent leaders were sought in those locations. Anna came to Carson Tahoe as the Director of Acute Care Services in September of 2013 and was promoted to Interim CNO in March 2014. Anna is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE); the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives (TONE); Sigma Theta Tau—Honor Society of Nursing (STTI); and will be seeking similar associations in Nevada and Northern Nevada.
Dr. Rodríguez obtained his medical degree from Stanford University and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Following his Residency, he joined Kaiser Permanente as a General Internist. Following years of providing direct clinical care, he was promoted to a Director level physician. He along with 10 other Director level physicians led the medical group which had over 1800 full partners and 3800 FTE’s of physicians. He retired from Permanente as President CEO and Chairman of the Board of South East Permanente Medical Group after 20 years of service. In 1998 he went into the hospital business as Senior Vice President / CMO at TMC Healthcare in Tucson, Arizona. He has held many positions since, after 8 years with TMC Healthcare; he was recruited to Vanguard/Abrazo and lead/ran 7 hospitals in the Metro Phoenix area. Once turn around was accomplished, he retired again in 2011. After a 6 month “retirement”, he was recruited to Carson Tahoe Health in 2012.
His skills and experience will be most helpful to CTH as we continue to respond to the challenges to hospitals in the realm of quality and patient satisfaction, continued pressure to manage costs while improving results, and vital physician relationships.
Pam holds a Master Degree in Health Administration and has over 20 years of healthcare management experience. She began her career in healthcare at Saint Mary’s Health Plans (now Prominence Health Plans) where she worked for 14 years in various leadership roles, including seven years for their third party administrator (TPA), CDS Group Health. In 2008, Pam served as Director of Self-Funded Operations within Hometown Health and in 2009 she returned to Saint Mary’s to manage their health & wellness division. Pam joined Carson Tahoe Health in February 2012 as the Director of Clinical Integration for the Physician Hospital Organization (PHO). January 2017, Pam became the Vice President of Clinical Integration, where she oversees Carson Tahoe Medical Group, Urgent Care & Retail Clinics, Wound Care, Physician Hospital Organization, Diabetes Education, Clinical Nutrition Services and the Health & Wellness Institute.
Pam grew up in Carson City (Go Senators!), earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Nevada, Reno and her Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joilet, Illinois. She serves as an active member of the board of directors for Access to Healthcare Network and enjoys talking baseball with her son, golfing, supporting the WolfPack, and attending local events.
Larry came to Carson Tahoe Hospital in 2014 with over 35 years of healthcare management experience. He began his career in the Pharmaceutical industry, serving in many capacities with the Upjohn Company, Pfizer and Astellas. He brings a vast amount of experience in areas of Human Resources Management, Business Management, Executive Development, and Organizational Development. Larry has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Previously, Larry served as the Vice President of Human Resources in Missoula, Montana and moved to Carson City in August of 2014 to serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Larry is a member of The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), and currently serves on the Governors’ Board of Workforce Development for the state of Nevada.
Ann Dahl holds a Juris Doctorate Degree and has practiced Health Care Law since 1995. She received her degree in Nursing and practiced as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Anesthesia prior to law school serving small rural hospitals in Georgia and North Carolina. She has practiced law as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida, and has represented Physicians and Nurses in Medical Malpractice cases. She managed an attorney team at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and she has extensive experience in Compliance and Risk Management serving as a Regional Risk Manager for the Doctor’s Company for ten years prior to coming to Carson City and Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare as Director of Quality, Risk and Compliance in 2006. She now serves Carson Tahoe Health System as Vice President of Legal, Risk and Regulatory Affairs and oversees these areas including Compliance and Quality. In her free time Ann enjoys working and learning from her horses and Border Collies.
