Alan joined Carson Tahoe Health in 2019 with over 28 years of healthcare experience. He studied business at California State University, Fullerton and proceeded to work at Ernst and Young, an international accounting and consulting firm serving healthcare, technology, and start-up clients. Following his inner desire to do meaningful work, Alan received his MBA in Healthcare from Western Governors University, Salt Lake City. Prior to coming to CTH, Alan simultaneously served as Chief Executive Officer of St. Mary Medical Center and Regional Vice President of St. Joseph Hoag Health in Southern California. Along with his focus on providing quality care to the community, fostering innovation, and financial stability, Alan values a teamwork culture that, in previous positions, has resulted in numerous patient satisfaction, quality, and industry awards. Perhaps his most important role is that of husband and father. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor photography, exploring wild places, and creating memories. With a proven track record, a creative soul, and a deep desire to make a difference in people’s lives, Alan is uniquely poised to lead Carson Tahoe in advancing the health and well-being of our community.
Michelle has over 20 years of healthcare experience. She joined the Carson Tahoe team in January 2015. Michelle began her healthcare career with the Iowa Health System (now Unity Point) in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2000, she assumed the Director of Planning and Marketing position at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California, later serving as Associate Administrator and then Chief Executive Officer. Michelle continued her career with Banner Health serving as Chief Executive Officer in Sterling, Colorado; Associate Administrator at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado and then Chief Operating Officer at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colorado. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 2011, she received the ACHE Colorado Regent’s Award for Young Healthcare Executive. Michelle enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling and spending time with her husband, Rocky, and twin boys, Andrew and Jacob.
Dr. Fink received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing a transitional internship at Brooke Army Medical Center followed by an Emergency Medicine residency at the Madigan Army Medical Center/University of Washington Combined program, Dr. Fink was selected as Chief Resident. He maintains Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. In 2013 he earned a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Washington and has recently completed a Health Policy Fellowship sponsored by Ohio University and American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. A veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Fink arrives here from upstate NY where he was the Chief Medical Officer for the Carthage Area Hospital and CMO / Interim COO for Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. His career has taken him from clinical Emergency Medicine to leadership roles as a group managing partner, Chair of Emergency Services, Elected Chief of the Medical Staff and VPMA/CMO in a large integrated health system. He and his wife, Kiersten are blessed with 9 incredible children and 4 of the most adorable grandkids ever produced, all of whom are a short plane ride away. The Finks are self-proclaimed foodies, who enjoy cooking, experiencing fine dining and local culture, wine tasting, skiing, outdoor activities, and travel.
Michelle joined Carson Tahoe Health from Tenet Healthcare where she most recently served as the Chief Human Resource Officer for the San Antonio Texas Region. Her experience in the Texas and California markets includes many successes in HR operations, leadership development, HR Information Systems, labor relations, recruitment, and organizational development. Michelle holds a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and completed her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Healthcare Administration. Michelle has an achiever attitude and truly understands how people and culture form the foundation of our success.
Kim has over 31 years of nursing experience in critical care, professional practice, education, and nursing operations, including as a chief nursing officer. She has nursing and leadership experience with medical/surgical practice, behavioral health, pediatrics, progressive care, adult and neonatal intensive care. Kim is active in nursing organizations. Kim also is an author, consultant, and expert in developing nursing practice, policies, and procedures, and improvement in standards of care that hardwire, support, and assure the best care.
Kim graduated with a nursing diploma from Foothills Hospital School of Nursing in Calgary, Alberta. She achieved her Bachelor in Nursing through Athabasca University, Alberta, in 2000, and both her Master of Science in Nursing and her Ph.D. in Nursing through the University of Phoenix. Kim is certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing and as a Nurse Executive, Advanced.
Mitch comes to Carson Tahoe with over 18 years of finance experience. He studied business and accounting at North Carolina State University and earned his MBA from California State University, Stanislaus. He began his career with Amtex, which was a supplier to New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) where he learned the Toyota Manufacturing Systems and Lean concepts. Subsequently, he accepted a position with Save Mart Supermarkets and lead the finance piece of the acquisition of Albertson’s Northern California division. For the past 12 years, Mitch has served Tenet Healthcare in progressive finance roles across three different hospitals. His most recent position was Chief Financial Officer of Emanuel Medical Center in California where the hospital earned Circle of Excellence awards and was a top hospital in the Tenet system. He has also served on various nonprofit boards including the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, Interfaith Ministries and is a Deacon at his local church. Along with ensuring a financially healthy organization, Mitch values teamwork and considers quality patient care as a top priority. In his personal life, he’s a husband and father of four and is very active in his local church. In his free time, he enjoys watching/coaching soccer (especially watching Liverpool FC!) and vacationing with his family.
