Carson Tahoe provides comprehensive palliative care to patients who are in need of these services. Palliative Care is an area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients during their hospital stay. Palliative medicine is appropriate for patients in all disease stages, including those undergoing treatment for curable illnesses and those living with chronic diseases, as well as patients who are nearing the end of life. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and other specialists focus on the patient’s quality of life and assist in formulating a plan of care to relieve suffering in all areas of a patient’s life. Once a patient is released to a home setting, they can transition to Hospice Care if needed.
