Smoking & Tobacco Cessation Classes
Carson Tahoe’s Smoking and Tobacco Cessation program provides structured support in Carson City and across Northern Nevada to help individuals quit smoking and other forms of tobacco use. Through education, behavior-based strategies, and group support, participants gain the tools needed to successfully quit and maintain a tobacco-free lifestyle.

Program Overview
Carson Tahoe’s Freedom From Smoking program is a structured, seven-week course designed to help individuals quit smoking through a combination of education, behavior modification, and peer support. The program focuses on building sustainable habits that support long-term success.
Classes are offered in a group setting and are open to individuals interested in quitting smoking or other forms of tobacco use.
Program Structure & Approach
The program is built around three key phases:
- Preparation – Establishing readiness and building a foundation for success
- Quitting – Supporting participants through the process of stopping tobacco use
- Maintenance – Developing skills to sustain a tobacco-free lifestyle
Participants also learn about available cessation aids, stress management techniques, and strategies to prevent weight gain and relapse.
Class Details & Enrollment
Classes are held in a group format with active participation encouraged. A new seven-week session begins regularly throughout the year.
- Class time: Typically 4:00–5:00 PM on scheduled dates
- Cost: $20 enrollment fee, with $10 refunded upon completion
- Includes workbook and supplemental materials

Supportive Group Environment
Participants benefit from a supportive, interactive group setting that encourages accountability and connection. The program provides an opportunity to share experiences, build confidence, and develop practical skills alongside others working toward the same goal.
Family members and support persons are welcome to participate, space permitting.
