Our nursing units at Carson Tahoe Health provide specialized care across a range of medical, surgical, and behavioral health needs. Each unit is supported by a dedicated team of Charge Nurses, Team Leads, and Management, ensuring a collaborative and professional environment.


Medical Oncology

Unit Details: 15-bed unit
Our Medical Oncology unit cares for a diverse patient population, including general medicine, oncology, dialysis, surgical overflow, and remotely monitored telemetry patients. Nurses here provide specialized care for adult to geriatric patients with a variety of needs.


Telemetry

Unit Details: 27-bed unit
The Telemetry unit specializes in continuous cardiac monitoring for adults with various cardiac diagnoses. Our team also cares for patients with neurological conditions, including TIA and CVA, providing comprehensive cardiac and neuro care.


Surgical/Orthopedic

Unit Details: 27-bed unit
Nurses in this unit care for post-surgical patients, including those recovering from major surgeries like total joint replacements, abdominal surgeries, thoracic procedures, and vascular surgeries. Collaborative teamwork with surgeons, hospitalists, therapy services, and wound care ensures the best outcomes for our patients.


Sierra Surgery Post Op

Unit Details: 46-bed unit
This unit focuses on lower-acuity post-surgical care, including patients recovering from neck and spine surgeries, gynecologic and urologic procedures, total joint revisions, and reconstructive or cosmetic surgeries. Our multi-disciplinary team collaborates to deliver quality care to a diverse surgical population.


Float Pool

Float staff at Carson Tahoe have the unique opportunity to work across multiple units, gaining valuable knowledge and experience from each. This flexibility allows nurses to develop a broad range of clinical skills while building relationships with teams across the inpatient setting.


Women and Children’s Services

  • Labor & Delivery Unit: 12 beds
  • Pediatric Unit: 8 beds

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Unit Details: 24-bed unit
Our ICU provides specialized, high-level care for patients with critical needs, including respiratory-compromised patients, multi-system issues, post-op heart patients, and other complex cases. ICU nurses work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment that supports critical patient care.


Behavioral Health Services (BHS)

  • Inpatient Unit: 52 beds
  • Crisis Stabilization Unit: Providing immediate care for individuals in mental health crises

BHS offers individualized, compassionate care for seniors, adults, adolescents, and children dealing with behavioral health challenges. Our team helps patients work through issues preventing them from leading productive, fulfilling lives.
